Martyn is a Deputy Director of Human Resources (HR Systems, Reward, Business Intelligence and Resourcing) and the University lead for HR Transformation. Martyn has been with the University of Edinburgh for two years and prior to joining Edinburgh. Martyn led the HR Systems and Reward Team at the University of Stirling where he also supported major change programmes including the academic restructuring of the University.
Melissa has been working with the University as a Senior HR Advisor for two years, supporting the Estates Department in Support Groups. She has worked through business change within Estates and has also been involved in change projects in previous roles outside of the University.
Susan has worked with Project Services across a range of Projects, Programmes and Portfolios since April 2008. For the past two years, she has worked closely with HR as their Programme Manager and IT Relationship Manager. This work has included helping develop the HR Transformation Vision and Business Case.
Laura started work within the University’s HR function in October 2009. Her most recent role, prior to working on the HR Transformation Programme, was HR advisory support within the College of Humanities and Social Science. Other roles within the University have included HR administrative support for Accommodation Services, College of Science and Engineering and also College of Arts, Humanities and Social Science.
Mal has been with the University since January 2016 and before moving to HR Transformation team, she supported the HR team for Accommodation, Catering and Events. Prior to joining the University, Mal worked at Amazon for 3 years, and prior to that with Registers on Scotland and Midlothian Council.

Stephen is a Manager within KPMG’s Public Sector and Health team. Stephen has been with KPMG for over 9 years and specialises in the Higher Education market, with a particular focus on transformation programmes that include performance analysis, efficiency identification, process mapping and process design, Outline Business Case and Target Operating Model development. Stephen is working with Martyn on the HR Transformation Programme.
Sarah has been a People and Change Manager with KPMG since January 2016 and has been working alongside Martyn Peggie on the HR Transformation Programme since April 2016. Sarah has 15 years of HR experience across Learning and Development, Employee Experience, HR Shared Services, HR Transformation, HR process design and the complete lifecycle of HR systems implementations for multiple organisations.
Murdo has been with KPMG since October 2014, joining under the Management Consulting Programme, and started working on the University’s HR Transformation Programme in April 2016. He previously worked on a large scale IT programme and Digital Strategy projects, both in the UK and USA. Murdo is currently working towards his CIMA qualification and developing Customer Experience expertise.
Stephanie recently joined KPMG under the Management Consulting Programme. Prior to joining KPMG, Stephanie worked in International Development and the University of St Andrews where she supported the Registry team in developing and implementing their new paperless application system.
Frances joined the University of Edinburgh in 2007; she has over 15 years’ experience working in staff development in both the private and public sector in Canada and Scotland. She normally works within the University HR Services – Learning and Development team and is responsible for managing the Mentoring Connections programme and for project managing different organisational development work.
